Nature Explore Classroom

Kids who spend time outside are healthier. Time spent outside can:

  • Reduce stress in children by up to 28%
  • Help children with ADD and ADHD concentrate better
  • Make children less likely to be overweight (by between 27 and 41%)
  • Improve both mental and physical well being

At Lone Star Family Health Center, we know that your child’s health starts outside of our clinic. In 2016, we opened a Certified Nature Explore® Classroom to provide a safe space for your family to spend time outside. Our Classroom is free and open to the public. Enjoy it before or after your appointment at our Conroe clinic, or stop by any time!

Check out the Adventure Guide to see what our Nature Explore® Classroom has to offer.

Our Classroom was developed and funded in collaboration with organizations such as Nature Explore®, The National Environmental Education Foundation, U.S. Forest Service, Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, as well as through support from the Texas A&M Forest Service and many community partners.
