STEVEN DENNIS, M.D., a native Houstonian, joined the Lone Star Sports Medicine Clinic after completing his sports medicine training at the Texas Center for Athletes in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Dennis earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Houston, and subsequently went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He then began his residency training in Family Medicine at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident.
After completing his residency training, he began his sports medicine fellowship with Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio, where he served as a team physician for Madison High School and Trinity University. He was also a co-team physician for the San Antonio Rampage AHL Hockey Team and San Antonio Silver Stars WNBA Basketball team. Additionally he has served on the medical staff for numerous events including the Houston Marathon, Big 12 Women’s Soccer Championship, Alamo Bowl, Texas Pro Soccer Festival, HEB High School All-Star Game, Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game, and the TAAF Games of Texas.
As a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician, Dr. Dennis specializes in the treatment of medical issues affecting athletes and active people of all ages, as well as musculoskeletal and sports related injuries involving the head, spine, upper and lower extremity.
In his free time, Dr. Dennis enjoys spending time with his wife, Tracy and their son, Matthew, as well as following the University of Houston Cougars, Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros and most local area high school teams. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.
